The objective of UniversalDoctoris to facilitate communication between health professionals and those users of the health services who have difficulty communicating in the language used by the health professionals themselves.

This improvement in communication is achieved thanks to interactive software that makes possible audiovisual communication using both open and closed questions.

UniversalDoctormultilingual software will facilitate:

• Communication between health service professionals and users of the service who do not share a common language.
• Communication with the deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired communities.
• Learning how to question patients in other languages.

From the outset the project has been intended to be as international as possible, and so the aim is to achieve its dissemination of a global level. The first version of the software will facilitate communication between Spanish speaking doctors and service users who speak other languages, notably Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Urdu etc.
Other versions of the Software for English, French or German speaking doctors will be available for those medical associations with whom agreements are reached.
