In 240 ICS centers
The Catalan Health Institute (ICS) has implemented UniversalDoctor Speaker: Family Medicine in 9 Languages in the clinical management program of its 240 health centers.
The aim is to improve communication in the many different languages of the patients who attend the centers and have problems expressing themselves in Spanish or Catalan.
UniversalDoctor Speaker: Family Medicine in 9 Languages allows the primary care staff at the Catalan Health Institute to work in nine different languages to cover:
- Administrative matters and the assignation of new appointments.
- Medical records
- Patient interview regarding:
- Medical history
- Drug habits, social history
- Present set of symptoms
- Physical examination and complementary tests
- Diagnosis
- Treatment
- Printing prescriptions in the patient’s language, if the patient wishes
- Printing medical and health advice in the patient’s language as well as Spanish and Catalan.
